Upon final approval, your STL file will be delivered via secure download or email. Each file is optimized for high-precision 3D wax printing and is fully compatible with the manufacturer of your choice. Should you choose to move forward with us, your CAD investment will be fully credited toward the final production cost—ensuring a seamless transition from design to finished piece.

What is included with your jewelry CAD service?

Our jewelry CAD service includes the creation of a professional 3D CAD model based on your design concept, specifications, reference images, measurements, and other information you provide. Initial photorealistic renderings are provided for review so you can evaluate the design before finalization. Please see the sample of the completed initial CAD Service below.

What information do I need to provide?

Please provide as much relevant information as possible, including reference images, sketches, stone measurements, finger size, desired dimensions, shank or band width, metal preference, and any specific design requirements. The more complete the information, the more accurately we can develop your design.

How long does the CAD design process take?

Initial renderings are typically provided within 1–5 business days after your CAD service or initial deposit has been purchased and all required design information has been received. Complex projects may require additional time depending on the design, level of detail, number of stones, and revisions required.

Will my CAD file be production-ready?

Our CAD models are created with production in mind, including considerations such as stone placement, seat alignment, wall thickness, structural integrity, and manufacturing feasibility whenever applicable.

However, final manufacturing requirements can vary by casting house, manufacturer, printer, setter, and production process. The receiving manufacturer should review the file before production.

What file format will I receive?

Final production files are typically provided in STL format unless another file format has been specifically agreed upon. Additional file formats may be available upon request depending on the project.

How will I receive my final CAD files?

Final files may be delivered by secure download or email after the CAD project has been completed.

Do you keep a copy of my CAD files?

We may retain project files for a limited period for administrative or service purposes. SK Custom Jewelry, LLC does not guarantee permanent storage or future availability of CAD files.

Once your files have been delivered, you are responsible for downloading and securely backing up your CAD files. Please do not rely on SK Custom Jewelry, LLC as your sole source for long-term file storage.

If you require a copy of a previously delivered file, we may be able to provide it if the file is still available in our records; however, file retrieval is not guaranteed after the original delivery period.

What happens if I lose my CAD file?

If you lose a previously delivered file, you may contact us to request a copy. We may be able to provide the file if it remains available in our records; however, file retrieval is not guaranteed after the applicable file-retention period.

Can you work with an existing CAD file?

Yes. We can review existing jewelry CAD files and, depending on their condition and complexity, refine, repair, modify, or complete them for production. Please contact us with your existing file and project requirements so we can determine the appropriate service.

Can you create a CAD model from a picture?

Yes. Reference photographs, sketches, inspiration images, and existing jewelry can be used to develop a design. However, a photograph alone may not provide enough information for exact dimensions or construction details. Additional measurements and specifications may be required.

Can you design completely custom jewelry?

Yes. We specialize in custom jewelry CAD development and can work from your concept, sketches, reference images, measurements, or a combination of these materials.

Can you provide CAD services for jewelry brands and businesses?

Yes. We offer professional CAD services for jewelry brands, retailers, jewelers, designers, and manufacturers, including ongoing and wholesale CAD workflows for businesses that require consistent production-ready designs.

Can I use the CAD file with another manufacturer?

Yes. Once your final CAD file has been delivered, you may provide it to your chosen manufacturer, casting house, or production facility, subject to the applicable terms of your service agreement.

Is the CAD service fee refundable?

CAD work involves professional design time, modeling, rendering, and preparation. CAD fees and initial deposits are non-refundable as it covers the labor and time.

Can you manufacture the jewelry after completing the CAD?

Yes. If you would like to continue with production through SK Custom Jewelry, your approved CAD design can move forward into the manufacturing process. We can coordinate the next steps from CAD → Casting → Final Product.

What happens after I approve my CAD design?

After approval, we can prepare the final production file and, if you choose to manufacture with us, proceed with the next stage of production. We will confirm the applicable production details, pricing, deposit requirements, and timeline before manufacturing begins.

Can you design a CAD model from an unfinished or non-production-ready file?

Yes. Our CAD Repair & Refinement Service is available for existing or unfinished projects that require correction, refinement, completion, or preparation for production.

What if my project requires a major design change?

Changes or request after the initial model has been finished will be charged accordingly. We will communicate any applicable additional charges before proceeding whenever possible.

How do I get started?

To begin your project, purchase the appropriate Jewelry CAD Service or Initial CAD Deposit and provide your design concept, reference images, measurements, and any specific project requirements.

Once your payment and required information have been received, our team will review the details and begin developing your 3D CAD model. Initial renderings will be provided for your review.
